đ In this weekâs edition of As the AI World Turns, we find Apple rising above the fever pitch of AI noise to deliver refreshingly consumer-focused, AI-driven feature announcements.
MeanwhileâŚ
Microsoft was busy recalling a Recall feature that doesnât yet deliver enough benefits to outweigh the creep factor and security concernsâŚ
And Google continues to confuse the heck out of everyone with a zillion product names slapped on what should primarily just be features of existing productsâŚ
And OpenAI welcomed a former National Security Agency director to its forever-in-flux board as its CEO continues to lose points on the trust meter đŹâŚ
And Elon continues to, well, be ElonâŚ.

Apple shared exactly what YOU will be able to DO--PRIVATELY (primarily)-- thanks to phone feature upgrades brought to you by AI.
Look, I wouldnât give Apple an A+ here. They definitely did get caught on their heels with generative AI, we have no clear timeline for many of the new features, the âApple Intelligenceâ branding is silly and unlikely to stick, and some features felt like ones they would normally let you stumble upon yourself or discover through a community forum.
But they stuck to their values, product, and laser-focus on user experience.
Not bad for a company weâve been riding for being late to the generative AI party.
What did you think about their approach and offerings?
